For those of you that are a part of a loyalty/rewards program, you will know how difficult it can be to collect the points but how beneficial they are in the long run. However when choosing to join one of these program you should be aware of what you’re getting yourself into:
1.What do you get for collecting the points?
WestJet: can be redeemed on travel and vacations.
Air Miles: can be redeemed on travel, gas, hotels.
2.How much is each point worth?
WestJet: each point is equivalent to 1 Canadian dollar.
Air Miles: each point is worth approximately 20 cents
3.How do you redeem the points?
WestJet: you can redeem some of the points towards a purchase and choose to pay the rest of it however you would like.
Air Miles: points you can only redeem points if you have the full amount that the purchase requires.
4.How do you collect the points?
WestJet: you can collect points by recreating a rewards account and collect them when you book with WestJet. OR. You can get the WestJet MasterCard and collect points with every purchase you make.
Air Miles: various stores and shops will offer air miles
The one benefit Air Miles has is that they can be used with different airlines; but when you’re comparing the two, I am a huge supporter of the WestJet MasterCard Rewards. It all depends in what you’re looking for in your Loyalty/Rewards Program.
